Rain

In Genesis 6-8, Noah, a man of character stood out in midst of a land of darkness and found favor in the sight of God when the world was sold to sin and evil thoughts. The bible says that God was so grieved in His heart for creating man that He wanted to destroy both man and beast. It is understandable to know that we as human beings have sinned and our God cannot stand sin. But why on earth will God want to destroy the beasts too? Do animals sin? They do not have a soul like us, but why did God chose to destroy the animals too?

This can be looked into carefully. From what the bible has said in (Genesis 6:11-12) that all the works of the flesh had corrupted the earth. If you look at it in one point of view, yes you can say that everything on earth was stained by the works of man. But if you look at it in a different point of view, the earth was so badly damaged due to man's evil thoughts and character so much so that it was impossible to have a harvest. Then and there God decided to rain the earth. Get this right, the things we do today even though it has nothing to do with the environment, can destroy it. How? Through the sinful actions we do in our lives. This means the problems we face in our personal life that have no link whatsoever with the world and the planet's environment. Because the truth is, our sin corrodes this earth we're setting foot on In Genesis 7, we can see that the great flood covered the hills and the mountains and it 'rose high above the earth' but most importantly 'the waters prevailed exceedingly on the earth, and the whole heaven was filled' God called for rain to the dry land. So that every single dry valley will be taken out in our life.

In Ezekiel 36:25-26 the bible says:
²⁵ Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols.
²⁶ I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh

God called rain down to cleanse all our unrighteous attitudes. Look at the key word in verse 26. I WILL TAKE THE HEART OF STONE OUT OF YOUR FLESH. God wrote WILL not might or Maybe i'll take the heart of stone. No. God wrote i WILL. If you look at the people and the animals in a different way.
You can clearly say that the people are - our earthly thoughts that the devil has influenced to simply. Kill, steal and destroy. These thoughts are never benefiting others, and yet it is to benefit oneself at the expense of others.
Then, if you look at the animals.
These animals- are the little foxes in our lives. The little things that hinders our walk with God. It can be a bad habit we have, a hurt you've gotten from a past trauma, a self-pity attitude you have of yourself. All these things are the little foxes of your life.

Look at what God wrote.

Genesis 7:2 (New King James Version)
² You shall take with you seven each of every clean animal, a male and his female; two each of animals that are unclean, a male and his female;
What does this tell us? There in our lives, there are attributes and characters in our lives that are similar to that of animals. This is why God gave us the authority to have dominion over animals.

God has planned every single season in our lives carefully but when we are unwilling to hand over specific things in our lives, we force our God to do something He does not want to do which may grieve His spirit. And because our heart is so hardened He has no choice but to send a great flood. But after the storms and the rain and the flood. The after product, is a heart that is wet, a heart that is overflowing, a heart that is moist with the spirit of God. What animals then are alike to that of our spirit man? That, i will cover in the next blog post. This i promise. But you might already know one of them! Its the beautiful dove :)
